Prioritizing care, connection, and healing over surveillance, punishment, and separation of families.
WHO WE ARE
Blessings In Transformation seeks to abolish the family policing system by advancing policies that divest from systems of criminalization while building community-based alternatives to state intervention. We provide holistic, parent-led advocacy, pre-petition support, and rapid response resource assistance to families in New York State.
WHAT WE DO
-

Protect Your Family from CPS
We seek to end family policing investigations before they escalate to court by providing know your rights information, advocacy during investigations, and referrals to legal support.
-

Rapid Response
We provide rapid response resource assistance to stabilize families in crisis and avoid unnecessary family policing involvement.
-

Policy Advocacy & Organizing
We create space for parents who have experienced the family policing system to harness their power for political advocacy.
We do what we do for Quanisha Marie Wright
1994-2010
At just 16 years old, my daughter, Quanisha Marie Wright, was stolen from this world by senseless violence. But her story did not begin that night. She was a fighter, a survivor, a beautiful soul who deserved so much more than the struggles she endured. She was once part of the child welfare system—a system that claimed to protect but too often caused harm. A system that separated families instead of strengthening them. A system that failed her, as it has failed so many others.
I do this work in her honor. Every family I fight for, every child I advocate for, every barrier I work to break down—I do it for her. Because no child should experience the instability, the trauma, the feeling of being lost in a system that does not see them as whole, as worthy, as loved.
Quanisha left behind two brothers, Trayquan and Hassan, who carry her memory with them every day. She also has a younger brother, Quadir, whom she never had the chance to meet. Though they never shared this world together, I know she watches over all of us, guiding us with the strength and love that defined her spirit.
Butterflies have always reminded me of her—symbols of transformation, freedom, and beauty. And just like a butterfly, her presence remains, even though she has taken flight. Through Blessings in Transformation, I fight to keep families together, to protect children from unnecessary harm, and to challenge a system that too often fails those it claims to serve.
Her story will not be forgotten. Through this work, through every family we help protect, she lives on.
