Policy Advocacy & Organizing

Blessings in Transformation is dedicated to organizing, campaigning, and lobbying for laws and policies that reduce the reach of the family policing system, and empower low-income, Black and Brown families. We seek to build relationships, capacity, and infrastructure among grassroots organizers and impacted people all across New York State.

Change starts with us. We create space for parents who have experienced the family policing system to harness their power for political advocacy.

We believe that all caregivers—whether parents, family members, or foster and adoptive resources—play a vital role in our movement to dismantle the family policing system. While this system often pits us against one another, we believe children deserve a community of loving caregivers who work together, not against each other. For this reason, we are committed to bringing all caretakers to the table in our advocacy efforts.
